From the 25th May 2018 the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) takes effect across the European Union. This new legislation replaces the Data Protection Act 1998 and is designed to enhance the rights of individuals regarding the use of personal data, and introduces new requirements for all organisations, in relation to how and why personal data is used.
